For me, yoga is part of a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, which empowers us to take charge of our own lives, in order to maintain peace, balance and good health.
Yoga is so much more than ‘exercise’. These are some aspects of my yoga experience:
- the joy of an easeful, flowing physical practice
- an expansive feeling of stretching and strengthening my body, undoing stress and tension, unwinding tight spots
- a peaceful contented feeling when I manage to access that still calm place, my quiet inner self, where somehow all answers are found
- a sense of balance that grows as I learn to integrate the teachings of yoga into my everyday life.
I have been practising yoga for 30 years now and know that my life has been the richer for it. I am deeply grateful to everyone I have learned from, especially Suryah Magda Ray, Erich Schiffmann and Donna Farhi, to whom I feel love and appreciation for the wisdom, understanding and laughter they have shared with me.
I feel very fortunate to be able to share my passion for yoga with others. As a teacher, I aim to guide people, through a process of self-enquiry, towards a compassionate understanding of their own bodies.
